Concert Etiquette
Formal concerts and theater performances are quite different than other entertainment activities, such as a sporting event, movie, rock concert, or social function. It is the job of audience members at formal concerts and theater performances to help the performers give their best performance possible, and to allow other audience members the opportunity to enjoy the show. The audience can do this by practicing the rules of theater etiquette:
· Families should sit together. Sometimes kids like to sit with their friends, however, this is a time for families to be together and support their performer.
· Visit the restroom before the performance, or wait until it is finished
· Turn all devices off (phones, watches, etc.).
· This is a live performance, and it should be enjoyed in the moment through your own eyes and not blocked by a screen. Please keep cell phones your purse or pocket.
· Please do not speak or hold a conversation during the performance.
· It is appropriate to applaud after a song!
· For copyright purposes, please do not post clips of this concert to social media. Remember where devices should be!
· For privacy purposes, please ask permission from other parents before posting a picture a child other than your own on social media.
